Once upon a time…
There was a young woman who overheard a group of grownups talking about our changing world. Most of them became full-time parents and full-time teachers overnight (in addition to many being full-time employees). “If I’m able to go to school online and learn over video,” she wondered, “is it possible to use those same tools to help parents and caregivers get a quick break?”
Just like that, the idea for Facetime Storytime was born.
What is it?
Facetime Storytime is a scheduling service that connects teens with kids for a short, virtual storytime. Our readers are reliable, responsible young people who love to read and can’t wait to share their favorite stories with little ones who look up to them. During the short amount of time they’re reading together, parents and caregivers get a much-needed moment to reset, recharge and straighten their capes.
Even heroes need a little help sometimes.
